From now on with doublets I'm going to challenge you to think of solutions to problems I propose.

not the challenge (since you're posting a solution, I'm not going to ruin that for you) but here's another one.
Man is his own god.

(arguably, you can do man -> mad -> mod -> god, but I think 'mod' is a sort of iffy word, don't you? and "sad sod god" has a nice rhythm to it.)
Some solutions I've come up with have been a little iffy. I go on if a dictionary - usually webster's as that pops up first on Google - accepts it. Good doublet though! Feel free to post a solution to doublets I propose. There's often multiple solutions. For all the upcoming ones over the next few month's I have scheduled answers for the next day, but in the future I'd like to acknowledge the first person to post a solution. As well as take ones made by guests.
